Thursday was another hot, humid day to add to our long heat wave string, but at least we got to see some pretty cirrus clouds in the late aft/early evening from the most distant clouds within the influence of Hurricane Earls circulation. The storm is racing northward, and will turn more towards the NE sometime on Friday, and graze our Maryland shoreline near Ocean City but just give us some partly cloudy, breezy, "hot" skies. But the sacrifice will be worth it - a significant cold front now over the Midwest will pass through our area late Friday, and give us a great weekend. Over the weekend we should stay in the mid-upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the lovely comfy 50s with dew pts dropping into the 40s. Looking forward to the weekends weather! But no rain in sight unfortunately. VP2 data as follows: High temp 91.2° recorded at 1508 Low temp 68.3° recorded at 0655 Obs temp tonight 76.3° Rel hum ranged from a max of 92% (0706) to a low of 42% (1609) Dew point ranged from 70° to 64° Peak Wind Gust: 9 MPH from the E (1522) Pressure ranged from 30.04"(0812) to 29.91"(2352) At obs tonight the temp was a muggy 76.3°, 73% rel hum, high overcast, 67° dew point, pressure 29.92" and falling. Wind Calm. Currently (119 AM EDT) the temp is 73.3° on the VP2, rel hum 78%, dew pt 66°. Barometer falling at 29.89". High overcast. Wind Calm. Temperature inside the house 75.0° (RS). Radar is showing a line of showers associated with the cold front that will be passing through our area late on Friday. Also radar shows the showers and storms associated with Hurricane Earl down in coastal areas of North Carolina and Virginia, spiraling around the low center. The whole storm is headed north, and then will start turning to the NE as Friday progresses. |
